• Woofstock is the creation of Nestle’ Purina Petcare. We have an extreme passion for pets and take the term “Petcare” very seriously in the products we provide and what we do with regards to community service

• We all have a responsibility to make our communities a better place to live. Our local non profit organizations provide services to others in need when the need is dire.

• If you have been following the news around this great country of ours – Americans have landed upon hard times. It is human nature to cut back on spending and giving in these tough economic times. Unfortunately, humans are not the only ones feeling the “bite” of the recession. Our furry friends, our family pets, our (sometimes disclosed as) children who provide unconditional love are suffering too.

• Current financial conditions have caused many to loose their homes and make drastic changes in current lifestyles. More and more we are seeing families having to make a choice between taking care of family and giving up the family pet. Under duress – many have had to do the unthinkable and place the care of their pet in the hands of “someone else”.

• There are also pets that have not been fortunate to have a loving family environment. These animals are dropped off on the side of road, mistreated or live in unthinkable conditions. Whatever the reason, there is always a need for “someone else” to rescue and help pets who don’t have a say in the choices that their human guardian’s make.

• The “someone else” we refer to is the Humane Society for Animals. They have been providing help for animals in our area since 1980. The facility has not been able to make improvements or facilitate expansion needs since opening over 20 years ago and is very rundown. Current situations have put a strain on their efforts to save as many animals as possible which is contributing to overcrowding and under funded conditions.

• While our support of the Humane Society is year round, we have decided that the need is greater than just the donation of food for the animals in the shelter. Nestle’ Purina Petcare has made a commitment to help in the fund raising efforts to get a new facility built.
